What hat style should I wear ? This
is a question I am frequently asked and often there is no
right or wrong answer. The right hat for you is
very much about finding something that you feel comfortable
and confident in wearing. However here are a few
pointers for you to consider :
-
If you are looking for
an illusion of extra height consider an up turn brim
-
Down turn brims can hide
the face, so bear this in mind if you are going to have
photographs taken
-
Consider the hat
together with your overall proportions, generally taller
people can carry off most styles, whereas petite frames may
be overwhelmed by large styles. Try out the hat
in front of a full length mirror to check the overall
impression
- The hat should complement your
outfit
-
How the hat is trimmed
can alter the character of the same hat shape, for
example a wild mass of feathers and sinamay swirls will
give the hat a more flamboyant feel than the same style
simply trimmed with a silk band or
